BFW has recently been named as one of the Assistant Project Managers on the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center. BFW Staff will provide scheduling and cost estimating support to LF Driscoll, the General Contractor. The hiring of BFW underscores Comcast’s and LF Driscoll’s stated commitment to work with small and minority businesses to create jobs and economic opportunity at the local level. Projected to open in 2017, the 1,121-foot-tall, state-of-art building will be one of the largest buildings in the country and an impressive fixture in Center City.

bfw-comcast2The towering, 1,121 foot tall, 59-story structure, developed by the Comcast Corporation and Liberty Property Trust, will expand Comcast’s global headquarters and become the new homes for NBC 10, Telemundo and the Four Seasons Philadelphia Hotel. Designed by architect Lord Norman Foster of Foster + Partners, the tower will span the 1800 block of Arch Street and include a block-long lobby with a glass-enclosed indoor plaza, which Foster has described as a “window on Philadelphia.” When complete, the tower is anticipated to claim its place as the tallest building in the entire United States outside of New York and Chicago.

The staff standing (l to r) includes Geneva Bessellieu, Construction Site Coordinator; Jon Kemp, Senior Director of Site Safety; Anna Marquet, Project Consultant and Grantwriter for Capital Projects; and Darshit Danny Shah, Assistant Project Manager/Engineer. The new staff bring a wealth of knowledge and experience thus offering our Clients a full menu of services from Capital Fundraising to complete project management, including design/development, scheduling, cost estimating, construction administration, safety, punch listing and project closeout. We welcome our new staff to the team.

BFW CEO, Blane F. Stoddart was one of four (4) recipients of the Globy Award bestowed by Global Philadelphia. Mr. Stoddart was given the award for his efforts in the international community. Mr. Stoddart is founder of Caribbean Cuisine Week where restaurants add Caribbean and Latin Flavors to their existing menus the first week in April of each year. Proceeds from Caribbean Cuisine Week helps to assist 700 International High School Students participate at the Penn Relays each year. Mr. Stoddart is also Co-Founder of Young Caribbean Professional Network www.ycpn.org which brings Latino, Haitian, and English Caribbean Professionals together for networking and professional development opportunities. Non-Caribbean Professionals are encouraged to join.
